Resource Program
Saints Peter and Paul School is proud to offer the services of two certified teachers in our resource program. Students who qualify receive services in addition to that of the regular classroom. The resource teachers work closely with parents to ensure success of their child at Saints Peter and Paul School. Mrs. Pat Roche and Mrs. Jenny Johnston are the resource teachers at Saints Peter and Paul School. In addition to resource services, a speech therapist is on-site at Saints Peter and Paul School to assist those students who require speech therapy services.
Speech Therapy
Students who qualify for speech therapy may receive those services at Saints Peter and Paul School through the Waterloo School District. A speech therapist comes to Saints Peter and Paul School once a week to meet with those students that need speech therapy.
Gifted Education
A gifted education program was implemented at Saints Peter and Paul School four years ago to accommodate the needs of our academically gifted students. Students qualify for the program through test scores, teacher recommendations, and parent referrals and are eligible beginning in the third grade. Nominations are taken each year through October, and are then closed for the remainder of the school year. Students in the gifted program have the opportunity to participate in different academic contests, engineering and creative challenges, and other learning experiences.
